LILI has been offering many courses in many schools throughout Sonoma County, including K-12 and college/university. All the courses can be customized based on the students' needs in terms of the course content and the length of the course.

Many of our instructors are bilingual. If you need a particular class, but don't see it listed below, please don't hesitate to contact us. The course might be full and the next session will be available soon. Otherwise, we will design and develop one just for you within your expected time frame.

LILI is currently offering the following programs:

Chinese-English Bilingual Program (NEW): This program is designed for childrenn who are interested in learning/improving Chinese languages and exploring Chinese culture. It is apporpriate for those who have no or little prior experience in Chinese and those who have learned some Chinese, but in need of practicing Chinese in a class environment.

There are two groups for this program, meeting at only LILI once a week during the school year 2006-2007:

• 3-5 years old: 3-5pm on Fridays, starting on September 8, 2006.
• 6+ years old: 9-12pm on Sundays, starting on September 10, 2006

This bilingual program inculdes, but not limited to the following courses:

• Fun Chinese for Kids: Learn Chinese language and explore Chinese culture through rhymes, songs, stoties, games, art/crafts & cooking.
• Youth Scientists: Do well-designed, hands-on, magic-like, and fun experiments under bilingual instruction.
• Computer: Learn various computer skills or applications at an appropriate level under bilingual instruction after a free assessment.
• Cooking: Cook Chinese food, following the instructor, name each gradient in Chinese while cooking, then eat whatever is cooked.

Youth Scientists (NEW): Science is a way of solving problems and discovering why things happen the way they do. In this class, students will spending time doing well-designed, hands-on, magica like, and fun science experiments. Thus, they will explore and discover some scientific rules. The purpose is to stimulate and motivate the students to develop interests and skills in science.

This class is available at the Community Centers in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma, and many elementary schools.

After-School & Weekend Program: Either in a one-on-one tutoring session or in a small group.This program includes the following in addition to all the other courses in those subject-specified programs:

• Homework Supervision: LILI makes sure that you understand your homework and get it done timely and appropriately. You will not be confused any more. You have enough attention to work in either a one-on-one tutoring session or a small group depending on what you need.
• Math & English: LILI tutors any levels from K-12 to college or university.
• Music & Art: LILI provides classes of music and art for those who successfully finished their homework and are interested in learning these skills which are not available at most schools.
• Test Preparation: LILI makes sure that you have BOTH the knowledge and the skills to succeed in those standard tests including, but not limited to:
  • STAR (Standardized Testing And Reporting)
  • CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exit Exam)
  • AP (Advanced Placement),
  • SAT: Nearly every college in America accepts the SAT or Subject Tests as a part of its admissions process.
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
• Study Skills Training and Enhancement
• Research Assistant

  • Fun Chinese for Kids (& Parents): Available in many schools and/or Community Centers in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma, and Sonoma.

  • Interesting Chinese (for those who are raised in Chinese speaking families, but have a desire of learning reading and writing Chinese. The class is offered in Chinese.)

 Computer: The computer classes are available based on the student interests and request. The following are currently available:

• Computer for Kids: You will learn basic computer skills so that you can type your homework, save it for later review, and revise it as needed. You will learn how to load your digital photos into your computer and rename them with a meaningful name within a second. You will have fun with many other cool stuff...
• Make Your Own DVD: You have a camcoder and shoot lots of footage? Come to learn how to put your video on to a VCD or a DVD...
• Editing and Publishing Your Home Video: You enjoy video shooting and burning it on the VCD/DVD? Come to learn how to produce a professional movie, adding a title, a transition between scenes, the subtitle of what the speakers said, ... You can send your movie to your friends as an email attachment, publish it on a web site, make a VCD or DVD... You will have lots of fun here.
• Digital Photo Editing and Publishing: You have a digital camera? Come to learn how to edit it and print it like in a studio. You can aslo send them to your friends as an email attachment, publish it on a web site, and more... You will be proud of your work and your loved ones will appreciate your special gifts.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). The couse will be customized based on your needs.

Drawing for Kids:

• Fun Drawing for Kids: This course is designed for students from K-4. The objectives of the course are to expose students to their creative potential, familiarize them with various drawing techniques, and develop ability to talk about art, and in turn generate an appreciation for art and each other [more... ]

American Sign language at all levels upon request
